This was my challenge today....Gesso was applied thick, scraped with several tools to make patterns...on watercolor canvas. An acrylic gray wash was applied over entire 16x20 canvas. When dry I began making shapes with red, turquoise, and yellow acrylics...finishing with black calligraphy lines...had nothing in mind at the beginning the shapes I made with the turquoise looked like the nuggets in my bracelet....thus Turquoise Mines
