Cats at the Back Door

I think there were 60+ cats gathered at the back door of my husband's friend's house.  I painted this some years ago on full sheet 22x30 Saunders 140 lb cold press paper.  I sold this to the museum director at Scurry County in Snyder, TX.  Wow, I thought I had problems until seeing all of Lonnie's kitties; now he is down to only one or two.

Norma's Calico

9x12 watercolor on Strathmore 140 lb cold press paper, Daniel Smith paints, of my friend Norma's kitty named Callie. The geranium pots are imaginary and I positioned the puss between them as if taking a little rest undisturbed.

Feline Groovy

12x9 watercolor on Strathmore 140 lb cold press paper over loose abstract underpainting.  After that dried I drew my cat Chuy relaxing and feline groovy on his colorful pillows, keeping the underpainting showing within the cat.  Meow!

Sinatra

15x22 watercolor on Fabriano 140 lb cold press paper, finished just now and what a lovely fellow he is surveying each visitor to his antique shop. This was a fun but difficult painting!  I photographed this laid back guy last year after doing a class in Tyler.
