Turquoise Mines

This was my challenge today....Gesso was applied thick, scraped with several tools to make patterns...on watercolor canvas. An acrylic gray wash was applied over entire 16x20 canvas. When dry I began making shapes with red, turquoise, and yellow acrylics...finishing with black calligraphy lines...had nothing in mind at the beginning the shapes I made with the turquoise looked like the nuggets in my bracelet....
thus Turquoise Mines

  1. I like it. Strong colors & a crucifix design right? I see some small tourquoise geisha girls all sitting in a row.Ha
